PHILADELPHIA, Pa.- Caldwell University women's soccer junior
Nicole Alfano (Union, N.J.) tallied a goal and an assist as the Cougars blanked Thomas Jefferson University 2-0 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest.
The Cougars improve to 6-8-0, and 4-5-0 in the CACC while Rams drop to 8-4-1 and 7-2-0 in conference play.
The score remained tied for most of the first half before the Cougars broke through in the final minutes. Freshman
Alexa Peto (Toms River, N.J.) netted the first goal of the game of an assist from Alfano to put Caldwell in the lead.
Alfano padded the Cougar lead in the final minute of the game as she converted a loose ball in the box into a goal for a 2-0 lead. The Cougars held on despite being outshot 15-8 for the game and outshot in shots on goal 10-3.

Jamie-Lee Bamford (Braintree, United Kingdom) tallied 10 saves in the win.
The Cougars host Nyack College for a CACC contest on Tuesday, October 26 at 3 pm at Caldwell Field.
