ORANGEBURG, N.Y.- The Caldwell University women's volleyball team fell short to Dominican College 3-1 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match.

The Cougars fall to 2-15 overall and 2-7 in the CACC, while the Chargers improve to 4-15 and 2-8 in conference play.Â

The teams played a back and forth opening set as the Chargers rallied late to win 25-23. Dominican took the second set 25-12 but the Cougars battled back to win the third set 26-24. The Chargers won the fourth set 25-16 to take the match.

Reese Sherwood (Salem, Ore.) led the Cougars with nine kills, 11 assists and 12 digs, while sophomore
Amanda Schiltz (Durham, N.C.) totaled nine kills and six total blocks (three solo).

Samantha Ashton (Colonia, N.J.) tallied five kills, 12 assists, three aces, two total blocks and 11 digs, while junior
Mary Grace Hartmann (Cutchogue, N.Y.) added five kills.

Humiko Stormer (Luckey, Ohio) posted a team-best 15 digs, while freshman
Karin Ojeda (Toms River, N.J.) recorded 10 digs. Â

The Cougars travel to Wilmington University for a tri-match on Saturday, October 23. Caldwell faces the host Wildcats in a CACC match at noon and takes on Millersville University in a non-conference match at 3 pm. Â Â
