DOBBS FERRY, N.Y.- The Caldwell University women's volleyball team fell to Mercy College 3-0 in a non-conference match.
The Cougars fall to 2-14 overall while the Mavericks improve to 9-11.
The Mavericks took the opening set 25-14 and won the second set 25-18. Caldwell led 10-7 in the third set but Mercy rallied back to win the set 25-21 and take the match.
Sophomore
Reese Sherwood (Salem, Ore.) led the way with nine kills, nine assists and nine digs. Junior
Mary Grace Hartmann (Cutchogue, N.Y.) finished with seven kills, while sophomore
Amanda Schiltz (Durham, N.C.) totaled six kills, two blocks and three digs.
Senior
Samantha Ashton (Colonia, N.J.) posted 15 assists and five digs, while senior
Humiko Stormer (Luckey, Ohio) led the Cougars with 15 digs.
The Cougars travel to Dominican College for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest on Thursday, October 21 at 7 pm.
