ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y.- The Caldwell University women's basketball team fell to Molloy College 68-41 in a non-conference game on Monday night.
The Cougars fall to 2-12 overall, while the Lions improve to 11-4.
Molloy jumped out to an early lead to start the game. Freshman
Halle Brown (Downingtown, Pa.) drained a three-pointer in the first half, while graduate
Alessia Smaldone (Malnate, Italy) netted a bucket just before halftime to cut the score to 32-15.
Caldwell rallied back late in the third quarter as senior
Tina Lebron (Manalapan, N.J.) drained a pair of three-pointers as part of a 15-5 run to cut the score to 42-30. The Lions answered as they maintained their lead the rest of the way.
Lebron went 2-for-5 from downtown as she finished with eight points. Smaldone totaled four points, five rebounds and three assists, while sophomore
Paula Dits (Alicante, Spain) added four points and 10 boards.
The Cougars return to conference play as they host Concordia College on Wednesday, January 8 at 5:30 pm.
