CALDWELL, N.J.- The Caldwell University women's volleyball team fell to Stonehill College 3-0 in their season opener.
The Cougars open their season at 0-1, while the Skyhawks improve to 1-0.
Caldwell battled through the first two sets as they fell short 25-19 and 26-24. Stonehill took the third set 25-10 to win the match.
Junior
Chloe Kissner (Seabrook, Texas) led the Cougars with six kills and four digs. Freshman
Victoria Marquez (Humble, Texas) added five kills in her first collegiate match.
Sophomore
Elise Smith (O'Fallon, Ill.) totaled four kills and six digs, while sophomore
Samantha Ashton (Colonia, N.J.) finished with 14 assists and six digs. Sophomore
Humiko Stormer (Luckey, Ohio) posted six digs.
The Cougars hit the road on Saturday, September 7 as they travel to Southern Connecticut St. University for as tri-match. Caldwell faces Assumption College on 3 pm and takes on host SCSU at 5 pm.
