CALDWELL, N.J.- The Caldwell University women's volleyball team lost its first conference match of the season in a 3-2 setback against Nyack College.

The Cougars fall to 5-10 overall and 3-1 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, while the Warriors improve to 3-6 and 2-1 in conference play.

Nyack took the opening set 26-24 but the Cougars won the next two sets 25-19 and 25-22. The Warriors evened the match with a 25-23 win in set four and won 15-6 in the deciding set.

Sophomore
Elise Smith (O'Fallon, Ill.) led the way with 25 kills and 14 digs, while junior
Chloe Kissner (Seabrook, Texas) added six kills. Freshman
Cassandra Rother (Fresno, Calif.) posted four kills, four aces and thee total blocks. Sophomore
Olivia Bellamy (Davison, Mich.) totaled five kills and seven digs.

Samantha Ashton (Colonia, N.J.) recorded 43 assists, two aces and 20 digs, while sophomore
Humiko Stormer (Luckey, Ohio) posted 23 digs. Freshman
Leilani Sepulveda (Phelan, Calif.) finished with five kills and seven digs, while sophomore
Lisbeth Suarez (Bogota, N.J.) totaled 10 digs. Sophomore
Annaleis Varela (Davison, Mich.) netted 12 digs and three aces.

The Cougars travel to the University of New Haven for a non-conference match on Thursday, October 3 at 7 pm.
