HILLBURN, N.Y.- The Caldwell University sprint football team defeated St. Thomas Aquinas College 26-0 in their first road contest of the season.

The Cougars improve to 1-1 on the season, while the Spartans fall to 0-2.

Caldwell got on the board in the second quarter as junior
Steven Yost (Walnutport, Pa.) connected with junior
Zion Rodriguez (Hoboken, N.J.) for a 10-yard scoring connection.

The Cougars added to their lead early in the second half as they scored on their opening drive. Sophomore
Armani Bermudez (Newark, N.J.) found the end zone on a 22-yard rushing score to extend their lead to 12-0.

Caldwell added two more touchdowns in the quarter freshman
Timothy Palmer Jr. (Hawthorne, N.J.) scored on the ground from 10-yards out. Later in the third quarter, Palmer connected with sophomore
Dajuan Carr (Newark, N.J.) for a 10-yard passing touchdown. Â

The Cougars return to action next Sunday, September 29 as they travel to Alderson Broaddus University for a noon kickoff.
