BRONXVILLE, N.Y.- The Caldwell University women's volleyball team opened up conference play with a 3-1 victory over Concordia College.
The Cougars improve to 2-6 overall and 1-0 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, while the Clippers open their season at 0-1 and 0-1 in conference play.
Junior
Marina Schalepfer (Aurora, Colo.) led the way with 13 kills and 20 digs. Sophomore
Elise Smith (O'Fallon, Ill.) tallied 13 kills and 15 digs.
Senior
Katie Compagno (Orland, Ill.) posted nine kills and two blocks, while junior
Chloe Kissner (Seabrook, Texas) added seven kills. Freshman
Victoria Marquez (Humble, Texas) chipped in six kills.
Sophomore
Samantha Ashton (Colonia, N.J.) posted 39 assists and 14 digs. Sophomore
Humiko Stormer (Luckey, Ohio) recorded 21 kills, while sophomore
Annaleis Varela (Davison, Mich.) posted 11 digs.
The Cougars travel to the East Stroudsburg University Tournament for four matches this weekend. The tournament opens on Friday as the Cougars take on West Chester University at 3 pm and Stonehill College at 5 pm.
