WALTHAM, Mass.- The Caldwell University women's volleyball team fell in a pair of matches on day one of the Bentley University Sandy Hoffman Memorial Tournament.
The Cougars fall to 1-4 on the season.
In their opening match of the tournament, the Cougars fell to East Stroudsburg University 3-0. The Warriors took the match 25-20, 25-7 and 25-15.
Sophomore
Elise Smith (O'Fallon, Ill.) led the way with 11 kills, two aces and seven digs. Junior
Chloe Kissner (Seabrook, Texas) added six kills and four digs, while senior
Katie Compagno (Orland, Ill.) posted three kills.
Freshman
Victoria Marquez (Humble, Texas) totaled three kills and sophomore
Humiko Stormer (Luckey, Ohio) recorded 12 digs. Sophomore
Samantha Ashton (Colonia, N.J.) netted 20 assists.
Caldwell fell in their second match to Molloy College 3-0. The Lions won the match 25-19, 25-11 and 25-18.
Smith totaled seven kills and five digs, while Marquez posted six kills and four digs. Kissner added five kills, while Stormer totaled 12 digs. Ashton finished with 17 assists and eight digs.
The Cougars wrap up play at the Bentley Tournament as they take on host Bentley at 11 am and Rollins College at 3:30 pm on Saturday.
