Kassaleh Ties Single Game Records in Women’s Lacrosse Win over Felician

LYNDHURST, N.J.- Caldwell University women's lacrosse junior Arden Kassaleh (Pompton Plains, N.J.) tied the program's single game points and goals records as the Cougars defeated Felician University 20-7 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest.  
 
The Cougars improve to 2-9 overall and 1-3 in the CACC, while the Golden Falcons fall to 0-8 and 0-5 in conference play.
 
Kassaleh netted a pair of early goals for the Cougars, while sophomore Samantha Murphy (Pompton Plains, N.J.) added a tally over the first 10 minutes of play. Felician matched the Cougars offense as the score was tied at three at the 19:37 mark.
 
Caldwell closed the half out with nine unanswered goals as Murphy added four goals and one assist over the final 19 minutes of the half. Kassaleh netted three goals, while freshman Emily Lasko (Jackson, N.J.) and senior Jessica Collum (Wayne, N.J.) each netted one goal to lead 12-3 at halftime.
 
The Cougars maintained their lead as Murphy added three goals and four assists over the final 30 minutes of play. Kassaleh tallied five second half goals and one assist to help Caldwell earn its first conference win of the season.
 
Kassaleh tied her previous school record of 10 goals and 11 points in a single game. Murphy set new career-highs with eight goals, five assists and 13 points in the win. She added three draw controls, three caused turnovers and four ground balls. Freshman Caroline Hastings (Parsippany, N.J.) totaled four draw controls. Collum posted one goal and one assist in the win.
 
Freshman Mia Monacelli (Egg Harbor Township, N.J.) recorded 10 saves in the win.
 
Caldwell hosts Wilmington University in a CACC contest on Saturday, April 13 at 2 p.m. at Essex Valley Field in West Caldwell.
