CALDWELL, N.J.- Caldwell University baseball junior
Jack Zosulis (East Windsor, N.J.) blasted a ninth inning grand slam in the opener but the Cougars fell in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference doubleheader to Felician University. The Golden Falcons won the opener 13-11 and took the nightcap 9-4.

The Cougars fall to 8-17 overall and 6-10 in the CACC, while the Golden Falcons improve to 20-16 and 14-4 in conference play.

Felician scored three in the first inning to take the early lead in game one. The Golden Falcons led 11-1 heading into the bottom of the seventh. Caldwell got a run in the fifth as Zosulis was hit by a pitch to start the inning. Junior
Tavis Brunson (Westfield, N.J.) singled and freshman
Dhillon Barbetti (West Long Branch, N.J.) followed with a single to drive in a run.

Caldwell plated 10 runs over the final three innings. Junior
Luis Rullan (Bloomfield, N.J.) drove in a run with single in the seventh as part of a four-run frame. Senior
Mason Marino (Brooklyn, N.Y.) added a two-run double, while junior
Joseph Mitchell (Bogota, N.J.) singled in a run.

Felician added two runs in the eighth to push ahead 13-5 but the Cougars rallied back in the ninth. Caldwell loaded the bases as junior
Mike Calabrese (Toms River, N.J.), Rullan and Marino drew walks with one out. Mitchell reached base on an error to score one run. Junior
Dylan Walicky (Belleville, N.J.) was hit by a pitch to force in a run. Zosulis blasted a grand slam but the Cougars fell short of a comeback

In the nightcap, the Golden Falcons got on the board with two runs in the first inning. Zosulis drove in the Cougars first run with a second inning sacrifice fly.

Felician extended to a 6-1 lead after five innings. Senior
Anthony Parente (Jackson, N.J.) drilled a two-run homerun in the sixth but the Golden Falcons added three runs in the seventh. Caldwell tacked on a run in the seventh but fell in the nightcap.
