WEST CALDWELL, N.J.- Caldwell University women's lacrosse team fell to Dominican College 21-9 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest.
The Cougars fall to 1-8 overall and 0-2 in the CACC, while the Chargers improve to 2-5 and 2-1 in conference play.
Caldwell netted the first three goals of the game as senior
Jessica Collum (Wayne, N.J.) scored one, while junior
Arden Kassaleh (Pompton Plains, N.J.) added two goals. Dominican rallied with four goals to take a 4-3 lead. Freshman
Jenna Steelman (Mays Landing, N.J.) scored for the Caldwell to even the score at four.
Sophomore
Samantha Murphy (Pompton Plains, N.J.) netted a first half goal but the Chargers held a 13-5 lead at halftime.
Dominican pulled ahead 17-5 midway through the second half before Collum added her second goal of the day. Kassaleh scored three late goals for the Cougars to fell in their second conference game of the season.
Kassaleh led the way with five goals, one assist, three ground balls, two caused turnovers and one draw control. Collum totaled two goals, one assist, two ground balls, two caused turnovers and one draw control. Murphy and Steelman both netted one goals, while Murphy added four draw controls.
Freshman
Mia Monacelli (Egg Harbor Township, N.J.) played all 60 minutes in net and recorded 14 saves.
Caldwell travels to the Jefferson for a CACC contest on Saturday, April 6 at noon.
