CALDWELL, N.J.- The Caldwell University baseball team fell in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference doubleheader to Wilmington University on senior day. The Wildcats won the opener 17-3 and took the nightcap 19-6.

The Cougars fall to 14-27 and finish the season with a 12-20 CACC record. The Wildcats improve to 31-16 and 19-11 in conference play.

In the opener, Wilmington scored runs to take the lead. Caldwell got a run in the sixth as senior
Mason Marino (Brooklyn, N.Y.) doubled to lead off the inning. He scored later in the inning on a sacrifice fly by freshman
Alejandro Mejia (Naples, Fla.). The Cougars added two runs on the eighth in errors.

In the nightcap, the Wildcats pulled ahead with a 10-run second inning. Caldwell got on the board in the third as junior
Luis Rullan (Bloomfield, N.J.) hit a solo homerun. The Cougars added a run on an error, while freshman
Frank Lehmann (Colonia, N.J.) singled in a run in the fourth.

Caldwell loaded the bases in the seventh as Rullan led off with a single. Lehmann singled and Mejia was hit by a pitch. Junior
Michael Calabrese (Toms River, N.J.) cleared the bases with a three-run triple.

The Cougars travel to Pace University on Wednesday, May 1 for a non-conference game. Caldwell awaits the results on the final conference regular season games to determine a potential post-season berth.
