CALDWELL, N.J.- Caldwell University baseball freshman
Giovanni Mattis (Davie, Fla.) went 2-for-3 as the Cougars fell to Queens College 6-0 in their home opener.
The Cougars fall to 2-6, while the Knights improve to 9-6-1.
Queens took the lead with two runs in the third inning and added four in the eighth.
Caldwell was limited to five hits as Mattis collected two hits, including a leadoff double in the fifth inning.

Kenneth Matta (Union, N.J.) got the start, tossing three innings, allowing two runs on six hits to fall to 0-2. Junior
Michael Hess (Valley Cottage, N.Y.) struck out five in 2 1/3 scoreless innings pitched.
The Cougars open Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play as they travel to Dominican College for a conference doubleheader on Wednesday, March 20 at 3 p.m.
