LANTANA, Fla.- The Caldwell University baseball team came up short to Merrimack College 4-2 as they continued their Florida swing on Wednesday.

The Cougars fall to 2-4, while the Warriors improve to 4-6.

Merrimack got on the board in the first inning as they took a 1-0 lead. Caldwell evened the score in the second inning as the Cougars put runners on first and second. Freshman
Juan Nunez (Roselle Park, N.J.) singled in the tying run to even the score at 1-1.

The Cougars took the lead in the seventh as junior
Jack Zosulis (East Windsor, N.J.) and freshman
Kyle Richards (Sayreville, N.J.) singled to start the inning. Zosulis advanced to third on a fielder's choice and scored on an error to put Caldwell in front 2-1.

Merrimack answered in their half of the eighth as they plated three runs to pull ahead 4-2.

Nick Cerbone (Bayonne, N.J.) tossed 6 1/3 innings, allowing one run on five hits, while striking out three. Senior
Anthony Frascati (Bloomfield, N.J.) retired both batters he faced to close out the seventh inning. Freshman
Frank Lehmann (Colonia, N.J.) took the loss as he allowed three runs on one hit with two strikeouts in the eighth inning. Â
