LANTANA, Fla.- The Caldwell University baseball team fell to Lynn University 8-3 they continued their Florida trip on Sunday afternoon.

The Cougars fall to 2-2 on the season, while the Fighting Knights improve to 14-8.

Caldwell took the early with a pair of runs in the opening inning. Freshman
Frank Lehmann (Colonia, N.J.) led off the game with a double. Freshman
Giovanni Mattis (Davie, Fla.) singled home Lehmann for the first run of the game. Mattis stole second and came around to score on a single by junior
Jack Zosulis (East Windsor, N.J.).

Lynn battled back to take a 4-2 lead into the fifth inning. Caldwell added a run in the fifth as Lehmann reached on a fielder's choice and advanced to second on an error. Mattis singled to drive in Lehmann to cut the score to 4-3.

The Fighting Knights added four runs in the final three innings to pull ahead 8-3.

Kenneth Matta (Union, N.J.) tossed four innings, allowing four runs on eight hits to fall to 0-1 on the season. Freshman
Peter Loumakos (Jackson, N.J.) pitched the final four innings, allowing four runs on five hits with two strikeouts.

The Cougars continue their Florida road trip as they take on Post University on Tuesday, March 12 at Santaluces Sports Complex at noon.
