CALDWELL, N.J.- Caldwell University men's basketball junior
AJ Kittles (Glassboro, N.J.) netted 18 points to help the Cougars extend their win streak to five with 72-55 win over Chestnut Hill College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest.
The Cougars improve to 13-10 overall and 9-5 in the CACC, while the Griffins fall to 3-19 and 0-13 in conference play.
Caldwell scored the first eight points of the game as they broke out of the gate with a 21-5 lead midway through the first half. Sophomore
Manley Dorme (Nanuet, N.Y.) converted a three-point play in the run. Kittles totaled 11 points, including a triple, as he capped the run at the 10:07 mark.
The Griffins trimmed the score down to eight points at 30-22 with 3:32 remaining in the first half. Caldwell scored the final seven points of the half as Kittles added a triple to help the Cougars push ahead 37-22 at halftime.
Senior
Ahmad Harrison (Newark, N.J.) drained a three-pointer early in the second half as the Cougars pulled ahead 48-25 at the 15:25 mark. Caldwell maintained their lead to the final buzzer for the fifth consecutive win.
Kittles led the way with 18 points and five rebounds. Harrison totaled seven points and three assists, while junior
Ned Ogomesim (Westampton, N.J.) grabbed six boards. Junior
Vaughn Covington (Sicklerville, N.J.) tallied six points, six assists and four steals. Senior
Thomas Elliott-Smith (Plymouth, England) posted seven points and five rebounds.
The Cougars host to Felician University on Wednesday, February 13 for a CACC contest at 7:30 pm.
