CALDWELL, N.J.- Caldwell University women's basketball junior
Tina Lebron (Manalapan, N.J.) netted 20 points as the Cougars cruised past Chestnut Hill 86-51 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest.
The Cougars improve to 7-14 and 7-7 in the CACC, while Griffins drop to 6-15 and 4-9 in conference play.
Caldwell got off to a fast start as they pulled ahead 17-6 midway through the opening quarter. Graduate
Alessia Smaldone (Malnate, Italy) converted a three-point play in the early going. Freshman
Paula Dits (Alicante, Spain) netted six points and capped the run at the 4:07 mark.
Chestnut Hill trimmed the score 19-12 late in the quarter but the Cougars answered as they extended their lead to 35-15 early in the second quarter.
The Cougars held a 42-29 halftime lead and maintained a double-digit advantage through the second half.
Lebron drained 6-of-10 from downtown as she finished with 20 points, three assists and six steals. Freshman
Tamrin Henderson (Woodbridge, Va.) posted 18 points and three rebounds, while Dits added 16 points and six rebounds. Smaldone finished with 10 points, eight assists and three steals, while senior
Kristen Siscamanis (Winthrop, Mass.) chipped in seven points and five rebounds. Senior
Andie Lennon (Secaucus, N.J.) tallied five points, five rebounds, nine assists and four steals.
The Cougars host Felician University in a CACC North Division clash on Wednesday, February 13 at 5:30 pm.
