NYACK, N.Y.- Caldwell University women's basketball senior
Tina Lebron (Manalapan, N.J.) totaled 18 points as the Cougars defeated Nyack College 67-60 to capture their first win of the season.
The Cougars improve to 1-6 overall and 1-1 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, while the Warriors drop to 2-4 and 0-1 in conference play.
Nyack got out to an early lead as they held a 24-14 lead midway through the second quarter. The Cougars rallied back as they closed out the half with a 16-5 run. Sophomore

Halle Brown (Downingtown, Pa.) each drained triples in the rally. Sophomore
Tamrin Henderson (Woodbridge, Va.) connected on a jumper at the buzzer to give Caldwell a 30-29 lead at the break.
The Cougars opened up a five points lead late in the third quarter following a bucket by freshman
Jessica Wagoner (Clifton Park, N.Y.). Nyack battled back to trim the score down to 46-45 at the end of the third quarter.
Caldwell pulled away to start the final quarter as Lebron bookended a 14-5 run with trifectas. Dits added six points in the run as the Cougars built a 60-50 lead with 3:14 left in the game. Lebron connected on four of Caldwell's seven free throws in the final minute to hold off Nyack down the stretch.
Lebron led the way with 18 points and three boards in the win. Dits netted 13 points and eight rebounds, while graduate
Alessia Smaldone (Malnate, Italy) finished with 12 points, three rebounds, two assists and three steals. Wagoner added eight points, two boards and two steals.
