COLCHESTER, Vt.- Caldwell University women's basketball senior
Tina Lebron (Manalapan, N.J.) totaled 15 points as the Cougars came up short 69-56 to Saint Michael's College in the Delta Hotel NE10/CACC Conference Challenge.
The Cougars fall to 0-2 overall, while the Purple Knights improve to 2-0.
The teams battled through a competitive first half that featured nine ties and seven lead changes. Graduate
Alessia Smaldone (Malnate, Italy) totaled nine first half points, while Lebron drained a pair of three-pointer as the teams were tied at 28 at the break.
The Purple Knights opened up a double-digit lead midway through the quarter and maintained their lead the rest of the way.
Lebron finished with 15 points, five rebounds and four steals. Sophomore
Tamrin Henderson (Woodbridge, Va.) totaled 12 points and eight rebounds, while Smaldone posted 11 points, three boards and two assists. Sophomore
Paula Dits (Alicante, Spain) chipped in six points and three rebounds.
The Cougars travel to Adelphi University on Saturday, November 16 for a non-conference contest at 7 pm.
