GARDEN CITY, N.Y.- The Caldwell University women's basketball team fell to Adelphi University 98-59 in a non-conference contest.
The Cougars fall to 0-3 overall, while the Panthers improve to 4-0.
Adelphi got off to a fast start in the game as they opened up a 14-2 lead midway through the opening quarter. The Cougars were limited to nine points in the quarter as freshman
Rebecca Morrison (Ayrshire, Scotland) scored three points with two boards.
The Panthers maintained their lead into the second quarter and held the advantage through the second half.
Morrison led the Cougars with 10 points and six rebounds. Sophomore
Paula Dits (Alicante, Spain) totaled nine points and 10 boards, while graduate
Alessia Smaldone (Malnate, Italy) finished with six points, seven rebounds and three assists.
The Cougars travel to Dominican College for their conference opener on Wednesday, November 20 at 5:30 pm.
