CALDWELL, N.J.- Caldwell University women's soccer senior
Amber Raines (Millville, N.J.) tallied a goal and an assist as the #3 seed Cougars defeated #6 Post University 2-0 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championships Quarterfinals. The Cougars advance in the bracket and will face #2 seed Georgian Court University in the CACC Championships Semifinals on Friday.
The Cougars improve to 10-3-3 overall, while the Eagles end their season at 7-8-3.
Raines got Caldwell on the board as she scored off a long kick from near the midfield line in the 28
th minute.
The Cougars added to their lead 10 minutes later as freshman
Sarah Costanza (Morris Plains, N.J.) netted a goal off a throw-in from Raines.
Caldwell held the edge in shots 9-8 but the Eagles recorded five corner kicks to the Cougars two.
Sophomore
Jamie-Lee Bamford (Braintree, England) was stellar in net as she totaled seven saves in the shutout win.
The #3 Cougars will face #2 Georgian Court in the CACC Championship semifinals on Friday, November 15 at 12:30 pm. The semifinals and championship contests will be hosted at Post University in Waterbury, Connecticut.
