WATERBURY, Conn.- The Caldwell University women's volleyball team outlasted Post University in a five-set victory in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match.

The Cougars improve to 6-12 overall and 4-2 in the CACC, while the Eagles drop to 0-18 and 0-7 in conference play.

Caldwell won the first two sets 25-21 and 25-18. Post battled back to even the match as they won the next two sets 25-19 and 25-20. The Cougars ripped off 11 straight points in the fifth set on their way to a 15-3 victory.

Sophomore
Elise Smith (O'Fallon, Ill.) tallied 15 kills, six digs and two blocks, while junior
Marina Schlaepfer (Aurora, Colo.) chipped in 14 kills, five aces and 15 digs. Junior
Chloe Kissner (Seabrook, Texas) added 10 kills, while senior
Katie Compagno (Orland Park, Ill.) totaled two kills and two blocks.

Cassandra Rother (Fresno, Calif.) netted eight kills, three aces and four blocks, while
sophomore
Samantha Ashton (Colonia, N.J.) recorded 38 assists, 14 digs and two aces. Sophomore
Humiko Stormer (Luckey, Ohio) finished with 15 digs and eight assists.

The Cougars host Bloomfield College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match on Thursday, October 10 at 7 pm. Thursday's match will feature Domestic Violence Awareness and recognize officials as part of the Officials Recognition Week.
