PHILADELPHIA, Pa.- Caldwell University women's volleyball junior
Marina Schlaepfer (Aurora, Colo.) tallied 14 kills as the Cougars fell to Jefferson 3-1 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest.
The Cougars fall to 5-12 overall and 3-2 in the CACC, while the Rams improve to 9-6 and 4-2 in conference play.
Caldwell wont the opening set 25-22 but Jefferson battled back to win the next three 25-20, 25-19 and 25-15.
Schlaepfer tallied 14 kills and 10 digs to lead the Cougars. Sophomore
Elise Smith (O'Fallon, Ill.) totaled 10 kills and 15 digs, while junior
Chloe Kissner (Seabrook, Texas) added nine kills. Senior
Katie Compagno (Orland Park, Ill.) and freshman
Cassandra Rother (Fresno, Calif.) each finished with five kills each.
Sophomore
Samantha Ashton (Colonia, N.J) totaled 34 assists, while sophomore
Humiko Stormer (Luckey, Ohio) posted 21 digs and three aces.
The Cougars return to action on Tuesday, October 8 as they travel to Post University for a key CACC North Division clash at 7 pm.
