CALDWELL, N.J.- The Caldwell University women's volleyball team outlasted Dominican College 3-2 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest.
The Cougars improve to 9-16 overall and 7-6 in the CACC, while the Chargers drop to 0-20 and 0-14 in conference play.
Dominican took the opening set 27-25 but the Cougars answered to win the second set 25-15. Dominican took a 2-1 lead with a 25-20 third set win but Caldwell forced a deciding set with a 25-11 set four victory. The Cougars pulled 12-5 in the five set and won 15-10 to take the match.
Sophomore
Elise Smith (O'Fallon, Ill.) tallied 17 kills and 13 digs, while junior
Marina Schlaepfer (Aurora, Colo.) totaled 12 kills, 10 digs and two aces. Junior
Chloe Kissner (Seabrook, Texas) added 11 kills, while freshman
Cassandra Rother (Fresno, Calif.) posted four kills.
Senior
Katie Compagno (Orland Park, Ill.) netted four kills and four blocks in the match, while sophomore
Samantha Ashton (Colonia, N.J.) recorded 10 assists and six digs.
Sophomore
Sophie Hicks (Christchurch, New Zealand) finished with 26 assists and four digs, while sophomore
Humiko Stormer (Luckey, Ohio) totaled 29 digs and four aces.
The Cougars host the University of the Sciences in a CACC contest on Friday, November 1 at 6:00 pm.
