NEWARK, Del.- Caldwell University women's soccer senior
Katie Iannuzzi (Bloomingdale, N.J.) netted two goals as the Cougars rallied back to defeat Wilmington University 2-1 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest.
The Cougars improve to 6-3-2 overall and 5-1-2 in the CACC, while the Wildcats drop to 4-8-1 and 3-4-1 in conference play.
The teams battled through a scoreless first half as the Wildcats held the edge in shots 7-5 through the first 45 minutes.
Wilmington broke through early in the second half as they netted a goal to take a 1-0 lead in the 49th minute.
Caldwell rallied back in the 61st minute as Iannuzzi scored her first goal of the day off an assist from junior
Teaghan Darling (Forked River, N.J.). Iannuzzi tallied the go-ahead goal 10 minutes later as she beat the keeper for the eventual game-winning goal.
Sophomore
Jamie-Lee Bamford (Braintree, United Kingdom) posted five saves in the win.
The Cougars travel to Concordia College for a CACC contest on Wednesday, October 23 at 3:00 pm.
