WATERBURY, Conn.- Caldwell University women's volleyball freshman
Elise Smith (O'Fallon, Ill.) netted 18 kills as the Cougars fell 3-1 to Post University in in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play.
The Cougars fall to 5-12 overall and 4-4 in the CACC, while the Eagles improve to 8-10 and 5-2 in conference play.
Post took the first two sets 27-25 and 25-22, while the Cougars won the third set 25-17. The Eagles won the fourth set 25-16.
Smith led the Cougars 18 kills, three aces and seven digs. Junior
Katie Compagno (Orland Park, Ill.) posted seven kills, two aces and two blocks while freshman
Demetria Gary (Savannah, Ga.) added five kills.
Sophomore
Marina Schlaepfer (Aurora Colo.) tallied four kills, two aces and eight digs, while freshman
Olivia Bellamy (Davison, Mich.) finished with four kills and two blocks. Freshman
Samantha Ashton (Colonia, N.J.) led the team with 28 assists, while freshman
Humiko Stormer (Luckey, Ohio) netted 17 digs.
The Cougars host Concordia College in a CACC match on Friday, September 28 at 6:00 pm at the Newman Center.
