NYACK, N.Y.- The Caldwell University women's volleyball team came up short to Nyackl College 3-1 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play.
The Cougars fall to 5-9 overall and 4-1 in the CACC, while the Warriors improve to 4-9 and 3-2 in conference play.
Nyack won a close opening set 25-23 but the Cougars evened the match with a 25-13 win in set two. The Warriors won the final two sets 25-17 and 25-17 to take the match.
Sophomore
Marina Schlaepfer (Aurora Colo.) led the Cougars with 16 kills and 14 digs, while freshman
Elise Smith (O'Fallon, Ill.) posted 12 kills and 12 digs. Junior
Katie Compagno (Orland Park, Ill.) totaled eight kills and two blocks, while freshman
Demetria Gary (Savannah, Ga.) added eight kills.
Freshman
Samantha Ashton (Colonia, N.J.) recorded 31 assists and seven digs, while senior
Jordan Hoffman (Colorado Springs, Colo.) chipped in 16 assists and three kills. Freshman
Madison Day (Rockledge, Fla.) netted five kills, while freshman
Humiko Stormer (Luckey, Ohio) finished with 17 digs.
The Cougars host Holy Family University in a CACC match on Friday, September 21 at 6:30 pm at the Newman Center.
