CALDWELL, N.J.- The Caldwell University women's volleyball team won their third match in a row with a 3-1 win over Chestnut Hill College in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play.
The Cougars improve to 5-8 overall and 4-0 in the CACC, while the Griffins drop to 3-8 and 1-3 in conference play.
Caldwell took the first set 25-17, while the Griffins won set two 25-17. The Cougars battled back to win the match 25-20 and 25-20.
Freshman
Elise Smith (O'Fallon, Ill.) totaled eight kills, four blocks and eight digs, while sophomore
Marina Schlaepfer (Aurora, Colo.) added seven kills and 10 digs.
Freshman
Olivia Bellamy (Davison, Mich.) recorded seven kills and three blocks, while freshman
Demetria Gary (Savannah, Ga.) posted five kills and two blocks. Junior
Katie Compagno (Orland Park, Ill.) finished with four kills and seven blocks, while freshman
Samantha Ashton (Colonia, N.J.) led the team with 19 assists along with 14 digs.
Freshman
Humiko Stormer (Luckey, Ohio) led the team with 15 digs, while sophomore
Alejandra Leal Montes (Gurabo, Puerto Rico) pitched in 14 digs.
The Cougars travel to Nyack College on Wednesday, September 19 for a North Division contest at 7 pm.
