BUCKHANNON, W.V.- The Caldwell University women's soccer team came up short to #22 West Virginia Wesleyan College 2-0 in their 2018 season opener. The Cougars open the season at 0-1, while the Bobcats begin the season at 1-0.
 
West Virginia Wesleyan took the early lead on a pair of first half goals. The Cougars registered six shots in the game as senior Haley Kopf (Jackson, N.J.) recorded three.
 
Junior Meghan Grundhauser (Easton, Pa.) added two shots, while sophomore Teaghan Darling (Forked River, N.J.) posted one shot.
 
Freshman Jamie-Lee Bamford (Braintree, United Kingdom) recorded six saves in her collegiate debut in net.
 
Caldwell conclude their opening weekend trip as they travel to Fairmont St. University on Sunday, September 2 for a 2 pm start.
