CALDWELL, N.J.- Caldwell University baseball senior
Michael Bernstein (Staten Island, N.Y.) drove in six runs as the Cougars swept a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference doubleheader against USciences. The Cougars took the opener 10-7 and rallied back to win the nightcap 18-12.
The Cougars improve to 6-30 overall and 6-18 in the CACC, while the Devils fall to 6-27 and 3-19 in conference play.
Caldwell built a 6-1 lead after the first two innings as sophomore
Jack Zosulis (East Hanover, N.J.) drove in a pair of runs with a single in the first. Bernstein added a sacrifice fly, while senior
Justin Jeannette (East Hanover, N.J.) posted a run scoring single. Jeannette singled in two runs in the second to extend the Cougar lead.
The Devils battled back to tie the score at six in the seventh. Caldwell answered in their half of the seventh as senior
Rob DeSanti (Barnegat, N.J) put the Cougars back in front with a sacrifice fly. Senior
Paul Marinello (Freehold, N.J.) doubled in a run for an 8-6 lead. Caldwell added a pair of runs in the eighth inning as senior
Kevin Goldman (Valley Stream, N.Y.) turned in a run scoring single. Junior
Mason Marino (Brooklyn, N.Y.) hit a sacrifice fly to help Caldwell take the opener 10-7.

Anthony Frascati (Bloomfield, N.J) earned the win in relief, as he tossed 2 2/3 innings, allowing one run on five hits to improve to 1-1.
In the nightcap, Caldwell took a 5-3 lead after the first three innings. DeSanti doubled in a run in the second inning. Goldman had a big hit in the third as he blasted a two-run homerun.
The Devils took the lead with a seven run fourth inning to push ahead 10-5. The Cougars battled back as Marino hit a sacrifice fly in the fourth. Jeannette added a run scoring single in the fifth, while Marino blasted a three-run homerun to tie the game at 10.

Daniel Gregor (Monroe, N.J.) singled to score a run. Bernstein ripped a three-run double, while Jeannette drove in Bernstein with a single.

Zach Endersby (Caldwell, N.J.) earned the win in relief, as he tossed 5 2/3 innings, allowing three runs on nine hits, while striking out five to improve to 1-6.
The Cougars host the University of New Haven for a non-conference doubleheader on Sunday, April 22 at noon at the Kiwanis Oval.
