WEST CALDWELL, N.J.- Caldwell University women's lacrosse sophomore
Arden Kassaleh (Pompton Plains, N.J.) and freshman
Samantha Murphy (Pompton Plains, N.J.) each netted seven points as the Cougars cruised past Felician University 22-2 in their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opener. The 22 goals set the program record for Caldwell.
The Cougars improve to 1-3 overall and 1-0 in the CACC, while the Golden Falcons fall to 0-6 and 0-2 in conference play.

The Cougars netted the first five goals of the game as Kassaleh got Caldwell on the board in the first minute of play. Junior
Jessica Collum (Wayne, N.J.) and Murphy each netted a pair of goals as Caldwell pushed ahead 5-0.
Felician got on the board with 22:17 left in the opening half to cut the score to 5-1. Caldwell answered as Kassaleh added two goals, while Murphy and senior
Pamela Schenck (East Moriches, N.Y.) each netted a goal to extend their lead to 9-1 midway through the opening half.
The Golden Falcons got their second goal at the 12:09 mark but Caldwell closed out the half with five goals. Junior
Rachel Lucia (Egg Harbor Township, N.J.) scored three times, while Kassaleh and Schenck added goals to give the Cougars a 14-2 lead at halftime.

Maryellen McCarthy (Levittown, N.Y.) each netted two goals. Murphy, Collum and freshman
Marisa Amoresano (Denville, N.J.) also scored for the Cougars. Graduate
Miranda Harrington (Neptune, N.J.) capped the scoring as she tallied her first collegiate goal.
Kassaleh and Murphy each finished with seven points on four goals and three assists. They both tallied eight draw controls, while Kassaleh added five caused turnovers. Schenck totaled six points on four goals and two assists, while Collum finished with four points on three goals and one assist. Freshman
Jules Wesler (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) netted four assists, while Lucia posted seven draw controls.
Junior
Nancy Benedetto (Jupiter, Fla.) totaled three saves in the win.
The Cougars host the University of Bridgeport on Thursday, March 29 at 4 pm at Essex Valley Field.
