HOCKESSIN, Del.- Caldwell University baseball senior
Paul Marinello (Freehold, N.J.) drove in three runs as the Cougars fell in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference doubleheader to Goldey-Beacom College. The Cougars came up short 9-6 in the opener and lost 19-5 in the nightcap.

The Cougars fall to 0-13 overall and 0-4 in the CACC, while the Lightning improve to 4-14-1 and 2-2 in conference play.

Goldey-Beacom got on the board in the first inning with four runs. Caldwell got a run back in the third inning as Marinello drew a walk and moved to second on a wild pitch. Sophomore
Jack Zosulis (East Windsor, N.J.) doubled home Marinello to cut the score to 4-1.

The Lightning added a run in the fifth inning but the Cougars answered with four runs in the bottom of the inning. Caldwell loaded the bases as senior
Justin Jeannette (East Hanover, N.J.) and sophomore
Chris Herrera (Passaic, N.J.) singled, while junior
Quintin Quartararo (Lakewood, N.J.) drew a walk. Marinello singled to score a pair of runs, while Quartararo came around to score on the play on an error. Senior
Rob DeSanti (Barnegat, N.J.) tied the game at five as he grounded out to score Marinello.

The teams traded runs in the sixth as Zosulis and junior
Mason Marino (Brooklyn, N.Y.) reached on base hits. Jeannette singled in Zosulis to tie the score at six.

Goldey-Beacom pushed ahead with three runs in the sixth to pull ahead 9-6 and held on for the win.

Senior
Justin Picinic (River Vale, N.J.) took the loss to fall to 0-2 as he tossed six innings, allowing nine runs on 15 hits with nine strikeouts.

In the nightcap, Goldey-Beacom jumped on the board with 10 runs in the first four innings. Caldwell got a run in the fourth as senior
Michael Bernstein (Staten Island, N.Y.) singled with one out. Marino ripped a double to score Bernstein.

The Cougars added four runs in the ninth as Jeannette had a sacrifice fly, while Quartararo was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to force in a run. Marinello drew a walk with the bases loaded to add a run.

Sophomore
Michael Hess (Nyack, N.Y.) fell to 0-1 as he tossed three innings, allowing eight runs (seven earned), while striking out two.
