MIAMI GARDENS, Fla.- The Caldwell University baseball team fell in their opening game of the 2018 season with a 4-1 setback to Adelphi University.

The Cougars got on the board in the fourth inning as sophomore
Jack Zosulis (East Windsor, N.J.) led off with a double. Senior
Justin Jeannette (East Hanover, N.J.) singled, while senior
Kevin Goldman (Valley Stream, N.Y.) singled to drive in Zosulis for a 1-0 lead.

The Panthers tied the game with a run in the fourth inning. Adelphi took the lead with two runs in the seventh and added a run in the eighth.

Justin Picinic (River Vale, N.J.) got the start, going five innings, allowing one run on three hits. Graduate
Zach Endersby (Caldwell, N.J.) took the loss, as he allowed two runs. Sophomore
Nick Cerbone (Bayonne, N.J.) tossed 1 2/3 innings, allowing one run on two hits, while freshman
Robert Brust (Shirley, N.Y.) recorded the final out in the ninth inning.
