PHILADELPHIA, Pa.- Caldwell University women's basketball senior
Kristen Drogsler (Middle Village, N.Y.) posted a season-high 32 points as the Cougars defeated Chestnut Hill College 80-68 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest.
The Cougars post their third straight 20-win season as they improve to 20-4 and 13-2 in the CACC. The Griffins fall to 15-9 and 11-4 in conference play.
Drogsler scored 16 points in the opening quarter with eight free throws and a pair of triples to help the Cougars build a double-digit lead. Junior
Andie Lennon (Secaucus, N.J.) added a trifecta in the quarter as Caldwell pulled ahead 27-16 after the opening quarter.
The Cougars extended their lead in the second quarter to take a double-digit halftime advantage. Sophomore
Tina Lebron (Manalapan, N.J.) drained three triples in the quarter to help Caldwell take a 48-28 lead at halftime.
Drogsler drained a triple early in the second half to give the Cougars their largest lead of the game at 51-28. Caldwell maintained a double-digit lead the rest of the way to earn their 20th win of the season.
Drogsler led the way with a season-high 32 points along with four assists and two steals. Senior
Maura Kelty (Barrington, R.I.) posted a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds, while Lebron finished with 12 points and two assists. Lennon chipped in 10 points, five rebounds and three assists. Senior
Sharell Sanders (Dorchester, Mass.) tallied eight points, eight assists and six steals.
The Cougars host Nyack College on Tuesday, February 13 in a CACC contest at the Newman Center at 5:30 pm. Tuesday's game will the team's Pink Game with baked good being sold with donations going to the Kay Yow Foundation.
