WATERBURY, Conn.- Caldwell University women's basketball seniors
Kristen Siscamanis (Winthrop, Mass.) and
Andie Lennon (Secaucus, N.J.) each registered double figures in points as the Cougars fell to Post University 78-58 to close out the first half of the season.
The Cougars fall to 2-8 and 2-1 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, while the Eagles improve to 5-5 and 3-1 in conference play.
The Eagles jumped out to a 15-10 lead late in the opening quarter. Caldwell rallied back to tie the game at 17 following a Lennon lay-up with under a minute to play.
Junior
Tina Lebron (Manalapan, N.J.) scored early in the second quarter to put the Cougars in front 19-17. Post pulled ahead by four points midway through the quarter at 28-24. Lebron drained a triple to trim the score down to 28-27 with 3:11 remaining in the first half. Post connected on a late jumper to hold a 30-27 lead at halftime.
The Eagles extended their lead to eight points at 41-33 with just over seven minutes left in the third quarter. Siscamanis helped lead Caldwell back as she netted seven of the Cougars next nine points including a three-point play at the 1:50 mark to cut the score to 45-42.
Post connected on five three-pointers in the final quarter to push their lead into double digits.
Siscamanis led the way with 16 points, two boards and three steals. Lennon chipped in 15 points and seven assists. Freshman
Tamrin Henderson (Woodbridge, Va.) totaled eight points and five rebounds.
The Cougars return to the court when the calendar flips to 2019 as they travel to Felician University for a CACC contest on Wednesday, January 2 at 5:30 pm.
