EASTON, Mass.- The Caldwell University women's basketball team fell to Stonehill College 74-54 to close out their weekend road trip.
The Cougars fall to 2-7, while the nationally ranked Skyhawks improve to 9-2.
Stonehill opened up a 7-0 lead over the first four minutes of play. Senior
Andie Lennon (Secaucus, N.J.) scored twice in the paint and added a triple as the Cougars closed the gap to 10-7 late in the opening quarter.
The Skyhawks finuished the quarter strong as they pulled ahead 24-10 after the first quarter. Senior
Kristen Siscamanis (Winthrop, Mass.) drained a jumper to start the third quarter as Caldwell cut the score to 46-25. The Cougars trailed throughout the second half by double digits.
Junior
Tina Lebron (Manalapan, N.J.) shot 3-for-6 from downtown as she led the way with 13 points. Siscamanis totaled 10 points and seven boards, while graduate
Alessia Smaldone (Malnate, Italy) finished with six points and seven rebounds. Lennon tallied seven points, four boards and four assists.
The Cougars return to conference play as they travel to Post University on Wednesday, December 19 for a 2:00 pm tip.
