BRONXVILLE, N.Y.- The Caldwell University women's volleyball team defeated Concordia College 3-0 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate contest. With the win, the Cougars clinch the #2 spot in the North Division and will host a quarterfinal game next Tuesday.
The Cougars improve to 13-16 overall and 11-7 in the CACC, while the Clippers drop to 1-21 and 1-17 in conference play.
Caldwell took the match in three sets as they won 25-20, 25-18 and 25-20.
Sophomore
Marina Schlaepfer (Aurora, Colo.) led the way with nine kills, while sophomore
Chloe Kissner (Seabrook, Texas) totaled seven kills and two blocks. Freshman
Elise Smith (O'Fallon, Ill.) tallied seven kills, seven aces and 14 digs, while freshman
Demetria Gary (Savannah, Ga.) chipped in seven kills and two blocks.
Sophomore
Chiara Chiappalone (Vecchiano, Italy) posted four kills and two blocks, while freshman
Humiko Stormer (Luckey, Ohio) recorded 10 digs. Freshman
Samantha Ashton (Colonia, N.J.) finished with 23 assists and six digs.
Caldwell wraps up the regular season on Saturday, November 3 as they host Bloomfield College in a CACC match. Saturday will also be senior day as the Cougars will honor their two graduating seniors.
