Freshman Elise Smith (O'Fallon, Ill.) had 13 kills and sophomore Marina Schlaepfer (Aurora, Calif.) delivered 11 as Caldwell (14-16, 12-7 CACC) won its fourth straight, a regular-season ending, 25-15, 25-18, 25-20 triumph over Bloomfield (5-25, 5-14 CACC) on Senior Night at the Newman Center.

Senior Jordan Hoffman (Colorado Springs, Colo.) contributed 28 assists and freshman Humiko Stormer (Luckey, Ohio) paced the Cougars with 13 digs and added two aces. Senior Alyssa Ayala (Wantagh, N.Y.) posted 12 digs and two aces in the win.

The Cougars opened the contest with a 7-1 spurt and later had edges of 14-8 and 18-9 en route to the first set win. Bloomfield held leads of 14-11 in the second set and 10-5 and 13-8 in the third, but the Cougars rallied each time for the straight-set win, their sixth in the last seven matches.

Caldwell has earned the No. 2 seed in the CACC Tournament and will host a quarterfinal match on Tuesday at 6 p.m. vs. Jefferson.
