CALDWELL, N.J.- The Caldwell University #4 women's soccer team defeated #5 Jefferson 2-0 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship Quarterfinals and advance to Friday's CACC Final Four.
The Cougars improve to 10-6-1, while the Rams season ends at 7-10-1.
Caldwell got on the board in the 17th minute of play as senior
Carlyn Salus (Pompton Lakes, N.J.) scored off the corner kick from junior
Meghan Grundhauser (Easton, Pa.).
The Cougars added to their lead in the 31st minute of play as sophomore
Jordan Madrid (Cherry Hill, N.J.) passed to sophomore
Macie Pennington (Townsend, Del.) who dribbled down the middle to score the second goal of the game.
Caldwell outshot the Rams 17-9 for the game.
Freshman
Jamie-Lee Bamford (Braintree, United Kingdom) finished with five saves in the win.
The Cougars will face regular season champions Georgian Court University in the CACC Championship Semifinals on Friday, November 2 at 11 am. The soccer final four will be hosted by Post University with Friday's contest being played at Municipal Stadium in Waterbury, Connecticut.
