CALDWELL, N.J.- Caldwell University women's soccer junior
Meghan Grundhauser (Easton, Pa.) and senior
Carlyn Salus (Pompton Lakes, N.J.) each netted two goals as the Cougars defeated Concordia College 5-0 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest.
The Cougars win their sixth game in their last seven to improve to 7-3-0 overall and 6-1-0 in the CACC, while the Clippers fall to 1-7-0 and 1-6-0 in conference play.
Caldwell netted a pair of goals in the first half with Grundhauser scoring both goals. She put the Cougars in the lead in the ninth minute off an assist from sophomore
Jordan Madrid (Cherry Hill, N.J.). Senior
Amanda Wroblewski (North Babylon, N.Y.) assisted on Grundhauser's second goal of the half in the 29th minute.
Salus scored her first goal in the second minute of the second half off an assist from Wroblewski.
The Cougars added a pair of goals early in the second half to push their lead to 3-0. Salus and assisted on Grundhauser's first goal in the 55th minute. Wroblewski netted a goal in the 57th minute off an assist from senior
Samantha Pereira (Union, N.J.).
Salus capped the scoring in the game as she scored off an assist from junior
Katie Iannuzzi (Bloomingdale, N.J.) in the 69th minute.
Freshman
Jamie-Lee Bamford (Braintree, United Kingdom) recorded three saves in the game to post her third shutout of the season.
The Cougars travel to Jefferson on Saturday, October 6 for a CACC game at noon.
