WEST CALDWELL, N.J.- Caldwell University sprint football sophomore
Carl Watson (Newark, N.J.) found the end zone twice in the air as the Cougars fell to the United States Naval Academy 45-14 in Collegiate Sprint Football League South Division play.

The Cougars fall to 0-4 overall and 0-1 in the CSFL South Division, while the Midshipmen improve to 3-1 and 2-0 in division play.

Navy took the early lead with an early touchdown in the opening quarter and added a defensive score early in the second quarter.

Caldwell got on the board midway through the quarter as Watson hauled in a 45-yard pass from
freshman quarterback
Tajae' Irby (South Plainfield, N.J.) to cut the score to 14-7.

The Midshipmen added two touchdowns and a field over the final seven minutes of the first half to take a 31-7 lead at halftime.

Navy added two second half touchdowns but Caldwell reached the end zone midway through the fourth quarter.

Watson again reached the end zone as he caught an Irby pass and took it 59-yard for a Cougar touchdown.

Irby completed 16-of-26 passes for 252 yards and two touchdowns. Watson hauled in eight catches for 184 yards and two scores. Sophomore
Zavion Stevens (Bloomfield, N.J.) added three receptions for 35 yards.

Freshman
Haleem Woods (Plainfield, N.J.) led the defense with 13 tackles, including two for loss. Sophomore
Royce Francisco (Passaic, N.J.) added seven tackles and one sack. Freshman
Kevon Bryant (Jersey City, N.J.) totaled seven tackles, while freshman
Askari Garner (Orange, N.J.) added five tackles. Â
