PHILADELPHIA, Pa.- The Caldwell University sprint football team fell 38-14 to the University of Pennsylvania in Collegiate Sprint Football League South Division play.

The Cougars fall to 0-5 overall and 0-2 in the CSFL South Division, while the Quakers improve to 3-2 and 2-1 in division play.

Penn built a 31-0 first half lead paced by a pair of rushing touchdowns by Jake Klaus. Quarterback Benn Klaus tossed one touchdown, while the Quakers added a punt for a score in the opening half.

Caldwell got their two touchdowns in the second half with the first coming on the opening possession of the third quarter. Sophomore
Carl Watson (Newark, N.J.) ripped off a 52-yard run on the opening drive to set up the Cougar offense deep in Quaker territory. Freshman quarterback
Tajae' Irby (South Plainfield, N.J.) capped the drive with a 15-yard touchdown pass to sophomore
Jared Dockett (Bloomfield, N.J.).

The Cougars added a touchdown late in the fourth quarter as Irby converted a key third down with a 20-yard pass to Watson. Caldwell found the end zone as Irby connected with freshman
Dajuan Carr (Newark, N.J.) for a 20-yard score.

Irby completed 16-of-30 passes for 196 and two scores. Watson totaled 49 rushing yards on four carries and hauled in seven passes for 70 yards. Dockett totaled four receptions for 58 yards and one touchdown.

Sophomore
Royce Francisco (Passaic, N.J.) led the Cougar defense with 10 tackles, while junior
Adam Robbs (Westampton, N.J.) added seven tackles. Freshman
Askari Garner (Orange, N.J.) totaled six tackle and added a half sack. Â
