Women’s Soccer Cruises Past Nyack

CALDWELL, N.J.- The Caldwell University women's soccer team netted three first half goals to pace the Cougars past Nyack College 4-2 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest.  
 
The Cougars improve to 8-3-1 overall and 7-1-1 in the CACC, while the Warriors drop to 3-7-1 and 3-4-1 in conference play.
 
Caldwell got on the board with three goals in the first half to take control of the game. Junior Meghan Grundhauser (Easton, Pa.) got the Cougars on the board in the 13th minute with her team leading ninth goal of the season off an assist from sophomore Jordan Madrid (Cherry Hill, N.J.). Grundhauser assisted on Caldwell's second goal of the game as senior Carlyn Salus (Pompton Lakes, N.J.) netted her sixth goal of the season in the 18th minute.
 
Senior Amanda Wroblewski (North Babylon, N.Y.) scored Caldwell's third goal of the game in the 30th minute off an assist from junior Katie Iannuzzi (Bloomingdale, N.J.).
 
The Cougars added a goal early in the second half as sophomore Teaghan Darling (Forked River, N.J.) scored her first of the season off a long pass from sophomore Hannah Marino (Pennington, N.J.).
 
Nyack tallied a pair of goals late in the second half but the Cougars maintained the lead to win their eighth game of the season.
 
Freshman Jamie-Lee Bamford (Braintree, United Kingdom) finished with three saves in the win.     
 
The Cougars travel to Georgian Court University on Saturday, October 13 for a CACC game at noon.
