CALDWELL, N.J.- Caldwell University men's soccer team junior
Joaquin Escudero (San Sebastian, Spain) tallied a goal and an assist to lead the Cougars to a 4-0 victory over Holy Family University in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play.
The Cougars improve to 3-5-1 overall and 1-3-0 in the CACC, while the Tigers drop to 1-7-0 and 0-4-0 in conference play.
Caldwell held the first half edge in shots 8-3 but the score remained scoreless through the first 41 minutes. The Cougars broke through just before the half as junior
Italo Cardoso (Monroe, N.J.) dribbled down the middle and blasted it past the keeper in the 43rd minute.
The Cougars added to their lead early in the second half as Escudero found the back off the net off a free kick from 20 yards out.
Caldwell added a pair of goals late in the game. Escudero crossed to junior
Tom Yorston (Northamptonshire, United Kingdom) who scored for the Cougars in the 73rd minute. Freshman
Kevin Avila (Newark, N.J.) tallied his first collegiate goal in the 77th minute off an assist from freshman
Mateo Cobos (Newark, N.J.).

Nils Svere (Lier, Norway) posted his first collegiate shutout as he recorded three saves.
The Cougars continue conference play on Wednesday, September 27 as they host Post University at 4 pm at Caldwell Field.
