CALDWELL, N.J.- Caldwell University men's soccer junior
Tom Yorston (Northamptonshire, United Kingdom) tallied a pair of goals to help lead the Cougars to a 2-0 win over Post University in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play.
The Cougars improve to 4-5-1 overall and 2-3-0 in the CACC, while the Eagles fall to 3-5-0 and 2-3-0 in conference play.
The teams battled through a scoreless first half with Caldwell holding 9-5 shot advantage.
Caldwell broke through in the 62nd minute to take the lead. Junior
Joaquin Escudero (San Sebastian, Spain) crossed the ball into the box where Yorston beat for keeper to give Caldwell a 1-0 lead.
The Cougars added to their lead in the 80th minute. Yorston broke free down the middle and scored for his fourth goal of the season.
In net, freshman
Nils Svere (Lier, Norway) posted his second shutout of the season as he finished with five saves.
The Cougars travel to Wilmington University on Saturday, September 30 for a CACC clash at 2:30 pm.
