KUTZTOWN, Pa.- The Caldwell University women's volleyball team wrapped up play at the Kutztown University Tournament as they split a pair of matches. Senior
Katrina Janssen (Seville, Australia) registered her 1,000 kill in a Caldwell uniform finishing the weekend with 1,004 kills in three seasons for the Cougars.

The Cougars move to 6-2 on the season. The Rams improve to 9-2, while the Golden Bears fall to 5-7.

In the opening match against Shepherd, the Cougars took the first two sets 25-20 and 27-25. The Rams rallied in the final three sets 25-21, 25-23 and 15-11.

Janssen tallied 24 kills and 14 digs, while senior
Taryn Auyong (Honolulu, Hawaii) added 14 kills and 17 digs. Freshman
Marina Schlaepfer (Aurora, Colo.) added nine kills and 13 digs, while sophomore
Kathleen Compagno (Orland Park, Ill.) posted nine kills and three solo blocks. Junior
Jordan Hoffman (Colorado Springs, Colo.) totaled 43 assists, while senior
Jessica Mitchell (Plainfield, Ill.) finished with 25 digs.

In their second match of the day, the Cougars defeated the host Kutztown in four sets. Caldwell took the opening set 25-18 and fell 27-25 in set two. The Cougars closed out the match 25-23 and 25-22.

Janssen led the way with 20 kills and seven total blocks. Freshman
Chloe Kissner (Seabrook, Texas) totaled seven kills, while Schlaepfer chipped in seven kills and 15 digs. Hoffman posted 33 assists and 12 digs, while Mitchell totaled 26 digs.

The Cougars host Post University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match on Tuesday, September 19 at 7 pm at the Newman Center.
