ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y.- The Caldwell University women's tennis team earned a 5-4 win over Molloy College in a non-conference match.
The Cougars improve to 2-1 on the season, while the Lions drop to 0-3.
Caldwell posted three singles wins as senior
Rebecca Ryan (Berkeley Heights, N.J) won her match at the #2 spot. Sophomore
Janis Jimenez (Shrub Oak, N.Y.) swept her match at #3 singles 6-0, 6-0, while senior
Shannon Donaldson (Bonita Springs, Fla.) won at #4 singles 6-0, 6-4.
In doubles play, senior
Valeria Otarola (Lima, Peru) and Ryan posted an 8-5 win at the #1 spot. Jimenez and Donaldson captured an 8-4 win at #2 doubles.
The Cougars open Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play on Saturday, September 16 as they travel to Goldey-Beacom College for a noon match.
