Lucia Tallies Six Goals as Women’s Lacrosse Cruises Past Felician

LYNDHURST, N.J.- Caldwell University women's lacrosse sophomore Rachel Lucia (Egg Harbor Township, N.J.) netted six goals as the Cougars cruised past Felician University 21-0 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference action. The 21 goals mark a program-record for Caldwell.
 
The Cougars improve to 5-6 overall and 3-3 in the CACC, while the Golden Falcons fall to 0-7 and 0-5 in conference play.
 
The Cougars jumped on the board in the first minute of play as sophomore Jessica Collum (Wayne, N.J.) scored to put Caldwell on the board. Caldwell added 12 more goals in the first half as Lucia and junior Pamela Schenck (East Moriches, N.Y.) each scored four goals. Sophomore Maryellen McCarthy (Levittown, N.Y.) and freshman Arden Kassaleh (Pompton Plains, N.J.) each netted one goal and two assists in the first half as they led 13-0 at halftime.
 
Caldwell added eight goals in the second half as Lucia and Kassaleh each scored twice. Schenck totaled one goal and two assists in the second half, while junior Mariah Wynn (Clearwater, Fla.) totaled a goal and assist.
 
For the game, Schenck totaled seven points with five goals and two assists. Lucia netted six goals, while Kassaleh finished with three goals and two assists. Wynn recorded two goals and one assist, while senior Amanda Timmes (Pine Beach, N.J.) added two goals. Collum chipped in two goals, while McCarthy added a goal and two assists.
 
Schenck led the way with 10 draw controls and added five ground balls. Collum pitched in five ground balls, while Lucia totaled five ground balls.
 
In net, sophomore Elizabeth Ruedemann (Monmouth Junction, N.J.) recorded two saves as she played the first half. Sophomore Nancy Benedetto (Jupiter, Fla.) played the second half in relief for the Cougars.
 
The Cougars travel to Post University on Tuesday, April 11 at 3 pm in a CACC clash.
