PHILADELPHIA, Pa.- Caldwell University women's lacrosse junior
Pamela Schenck (East Moriches, N.Y.) netted three goals but the Cougars fell to Chestnut Hill College 17-7 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play.
The Cougars fall to 4-6 overall and 2-3 in the CACC, while the Griffins improve to 4-7 and 4-1 in conference play.
Chestnut Hill took the early lead with three goals in the first five minute of the game. Freshman
Arden Kassaleh (Pompton Plains, N.J.) put Caldwell on the board with a score at the 24:46 mark. The Griffins answered with a goal but junior
Mariah Wynn (Clearwater, Fla.) netted her first goal of the season to cut the score to 4-2.
The Griffins extended their lead to 9-4 heading into halftime Schenck tallied a pair of first half goals as the Cougars trailed by five at the break.
Sophomore
Jessica Collum (Wayne, N.J.) tallied a goal early in the second half for Caldwell off an assist from sophomore
Maryellen McCarthy (Levittown, N.Y.). The Griffins extended their lead to 14-5 late in the game. Kassaleh and Schenck scored in the final ten minutes for the Cougars
Schenck tallied three goals along with on draw control. Kassaleh chipped in two goals and three draw controls, while sophomore
Rachel Lucia (Egg Harbor Township, N.J.) added four ground balls and three caused turnovers.
In net, sophomore
Elizabeth Ruedemann (Monmouth Junction, N.J.) tallied 19 saves in net.
The Cougars travel to Felician University for a CACC clash on Saturday, April 8 at 10 am.
